Uriel Apparel was born from a lifelong journey of faith, creativity, and purpose. Growing up in the New York City Church of Christ, I was surrounded by the church, and my faith in God became the foundation of my life. In 2014, my family moved to Baltimore when my mother took a position at Johns Hopkins, and it was here that my love for fashion, music, and creative expression really took root.
High school was where I first began experimenting with outfits, trying new styles, and finding a voice in fashion. Around the same time, I picked up the guitar and began creating music, mixing sounds, and expressing my faith through every note. This desire to infuse my faith into everything I did continued to grow as I entered college. While working toward my business degree, I took courses on entrepreneurship and realized I wanted to build something meaningful. That was when I decided to bring together my passions for fashion, music, and God into one journey.
In my basement, I taught myself how to craft garments by hand, creating unique pieces on my sewing machine and making faith-based music through rap, worship, and live performances. Then it hit me: God had given me these talents to serve a greater purpose, to share His light. And so, Uriel Apparel was born. The brand’s name reflects the meaning of Uriel, "God is my light" in Hebrew, a message I aim to share through every piece.
Uriel Apparel is more than just clothing; it's a faith-driven mission to spread light in the world. Through bold, meaningful designs and high-quality garments, Uriel Apparel exists to remind people of God’s presence, inspire faith, and encourage others to walk with purpose. This brand is for those who, like me, want to carry their faith boldly and make a positive impact.
